A sublime home-coming
The Australian String Quartet’s relationship with UKARIA extends beyond ensemble and venue; across the world, a shared bond ripples through every note we play. Custodians of UKARIA’s matched set of sublime Guadagnini instruments, we return with them for four transcendent home-coming concerts across this annual series of events.
Come and hear these instruments truly sing, in the venue that was built especially for this very kind of music. Treat yourself to Devonshire Tea before joining us in the concert hall.
MOZART String Quartet in C major, K.456 Dissonance
PAUL STANHOPE String Quartet no 3
Among the most celebrated of Mozart’s quartets, the Dissonance quartet is a fascinating work full of contrast and harmonic exploration, showcasing the composer’s creative genius. The exciting and uniquely Australian voice of Paul Stanhope is exemplified in his String Quartet No 3, which was inspired by Western Australia’s central Kimberley region.
