Experience a remarkable meeting of musical worlds as singer-songwriter Stephen Pigram of the Nganga Buru nation joins the Australian String Quartet for a captivating hour of music and storytelling.

Featuring songs by Stephen Pigram, alongside cherished works from the classical string quartet repertoire, this unique performance showcases the versatility and artistry of one of Australia’s leading chamber ensembles alongside one of Australia’s most celebrated First Nations songwriters and storytellers, Stephen Pigram, recently honoured with the 2026 Red Ochre Award for Lifetime Achievement in Artistic Excellence.

The Australian String Quartet’s Broome Residency with Stephen Pigram is made possible with generous support from the Shire of Broome, Broome Civic Centre and the Shinju Matsuri Festival.
