ASQ Richard Divall Australian Music Fund

Richard Divall Banner

Established in 2017 in honour of the late Richard Divall AO OBE, the Australian String Quartet’s Richard Divall Australian Music Fund seeks to directly support the commissioning, research, preservation, recording and performance of Australian music. The Australian String Quartet would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the donors who contributed to the establishment of the ASQ Richard Divall Australian Music Fund in 2017.

To date, the ASQ Richard Divall Australian Music Fund has enabled the Quartet to:

  • Commission new works by Kate Moore (2018), Jack Symonds (2022) and Vanessa Perica (2024)
  • Record music by Australian luminaries Paul Stanhope, William Barton and Joe Chindamo for the ASQ’s Australian Anthology streaming platform
  • Co-present Quartet & Country—an all-Australian performance program—at the Melbourne Recital Centre (2019)
  • Support the creation of production collateral for future presentations of the award-winning nyilamum song cycles  by Dr Lou Bennett AM and Paul Stanhope (2024)

Coinciding with our 40th anniversary in 2025, the ASQ Richard Divall Australian Music Fund has an ambition to raise money to support the ASQ to continue its significant legacy as a producer of Australian string quartet music for the next 40 years.

All donations will be directed via the Australian String Quartet Inc Public Fund to the ASQ Richard Divall Australian Music Fund. Donations above $2 are tax deductible.
