Friday 13 September, 11am
Devonshire Tea from 10am
UKARIA Cultural Centre, Mt Barker SA

Presented in association with UKARIA Cultural Centre

Drive through the glorious Adelaide Hills, following the fresh scent of eucalyptus and pine. You’ll meander up a dirt road and watch the bush blend into vineyards before entering the natural gallery of UKARIA Cultural Centre’s front garden.

Treat yourself to a delightful Devonshire Tea, with oven-warm scones as fresh as the day. Then, stroll into UKARIA’s concert hall for a morning of exquisite quartet music set against a live montage of the maturing day before your eyes.

Having collaborated for the 2017 Perth International Arts Festival, the Australian String Quartet and Arcadia Winds reunite for an Adelaide residency in 2019. This special program includes two wonderfully tuneful twentieth-century works by Britten and Françaix. Both inventive and humorous in nature, these pieces are perfect for the symphonic vibrancy achieved by the combination of woodwind quintet and string quartet.
