ANAM QUARTETTHAUS SEASON UPDATE AS AT 25.08.22

Unfortunately, the ANAM Quartetthaus season at the Royal Albert Hall has been postponed to the spring (UK) of 2023.

The ANAM Quartetthaus, which we were due to perform in, was scheduled to reach the UK well in advance of the season opening in September 2022. Unfortunately, its arrival has been significantly delayed due to shipping issues out of our control.

The Royal Albert Hall will be contacting ticket holders directly. If you are a ticket holder and have any queries, please email [email protected]

Australian String Quartet London Bound for Royal Albert Hall/ANAM Quartetthaus World Premiere

We are excited to announce a season of London performances later this year as part of the international debut of the ANAM Quartetthaus for the UK/Australia Season 2021-22. From 18-28 September, the ANAM Quartetthaus – a temporary structure designed for listeners to experience the visceral art of quartet playing – will feature a mixture of Australian and British quartets through a series of performances hosted by the Royal Albert Hall.

In a major program of cultural exchange taking place across the two nations, UK/Australia Season 2021-22 signals the first appearance of the ANAM Quartetthaus outside of Australia. To mark the occasion we are thrilled to present the World Premiere of a new work by Australian composer Jack Symonds as part of our appearances.

“The ASQ is truly honoured to participate in this unique cultural celebration. The impact of live performance in the ANAM Quartetthaus is extraordinarily powerful, immersive, and intimate. It is with great pride that we will represent Australia alongside our wonderful ANAM peers and share the stage with musicians from the Royal College of Music at the iconic Royal Albert Hall”

This will be our first international performance since November 2018, and has been made possible with the generous support of Arts South Australia.

“The invitation to participate in ANAM Quartetthaus at the Royal Albert Hall is a significant opportunity to reconnect with international audiences. As Australia’s national string quartet, our work is guided by collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking. It’s exciting to work alongside like-minded artists and organisations to explore themes of identity as part of this major cultural exchange program”
